The Fun of Working in a Group

In school we also experience things, which we do not like and we do like. One is when the teacher is going to split all the groups for a research project or for role-plays. We usually overcome some classmates, which are cooperative and also daydreaming. When involved in group activities or work with your classmates, it usually like playing and sharing good ideas with them. Among other things, working in a group means learning to get along with people you don’t necessarily like. And that is a skill that can always be handy.

For me I had experienced a lot of group works but there are also times when you can’t forget all what you have experienced. There are incidences, which I can’t really forget. I was still grade is when our teacher proposed a program. It was Buwan ng Wika. She divided the class into eight groups so there are three pupils each group. I was very excited because after we will have the group we will have the elimination on what group will represent the class and on what group will act the Balagtasan. What find e very interesting was the Balagtasan. I was very confident that my group would be chosen. When we started counting and to determine the members I was very shocked because my group mates were Jessel, the most naughty girl but fun classmate and Pamela, the shyest girl in class. I was shocked and lost hope that I will not be part of the Balagtasan. When he teacher called our group she noticed that I was very hopeless.

We started our practice in the classroom. I was sad because what if Jessel will not participate and Pamela will hesitate to talk with me. So I needed to take the first move. I need to start and gather all the guts to cooperate with them. Fortunately, I convinced them to start the practice. What they replied was very shocking. The two of them were very excited to have the practice and in fact they made me hurry. I was very happy and I can’t believe that they also want to be part of the Balagtasan. We practiced with ease and we were preparing for the program. We were even cheering each other. When the elimination came when we needed to be chosen. We were very happy and I can’t believe it.

When involved in-group works with your classmates, keep in mind that each member of your group has a role to fill, depending on each individual skills and strong points. But what really makes a group successful in their member’s ability to work together as a team. I also learned that it doesn’t mean tat each individual is judged by its attitude. As the saying goes, don’t judge the book by its cover.
