My Love Affair at MV Doulos and Books

Can you imagine a very enormous ship carrying a lot books? It is like a library that is travelling around the world.yes it is here in Cebu. The ship MV Doulos, the library in the sea.

MV Doulos means servant ship. The first time i heard about this ship is in the news. According to them this ship is very big and old. It already travelled around the world for many years. It visited many countries and now it is here in the Philippines. I first saw it or how it looks in TV particularly in Lovely Day (show in GMA). There were a lot of books. They featured different kinds of them. I didn't even thought that i can also go there.

One gloomy afternoon, as what i had remebered Madame Gallo anounced that we were going to MV Doulos. I was very happy because because i thought that i will be only seeing the ship in the television.when the day came when we needed to set off, i was very happy and excited and nervous. I don't know what i was exactly feeling at that time. I prepared my pocket money, actually it is not that big, and myself for a trip in MV Doulos. The class was divided into half, the first half called themselves CHUVALERNS. The other half which i belong was nameless.

When we arrived at MV Doulos i thought that the ship was the cock something ship because that is the first ship i saw but it was not. I was wrong the real one is so big and nice. When i got off, there were ropes placed and is very confusing so i just crawl below it but not that when you really touch on the floor. I ran as fast as i could to catch up in the line. When we were waiting for our turn to get up in the stairs, there is this second year student who had a bomb joke. The seaman who was standing near him heard it and scolded the student. He inspected the sophie and told him that bomb jokes are taken seriously here. I was very afraid when i heard him scold the second year student. After that we climbed up the stairs and went straight in the bookstore. The first thing thing i saw were books of course.

There were lots of books, in different kinds, sizes and particular topics. There were encyclopedias, dictionaries, coloring books, activity books, story books. There were also novels and pocket books. I love their books especially the Nancy Drew mystery books. I also saw MV Doulos souvenirs like mugs, erasers, pencils and bookmarks. There were notebooks, Cds, tapes and many more. I noticed as i go along the books that the price was not in peso it was in units. I was shocked because i thought that it would be in peso. Then i found out that one unit is equivalent to one peso. After that we headed our way to their amphitheatre. There, we had some games and film showings.

The trip was very nice. But i wasn't able to buy anything from there. But it is alright as long as i entered the ship.
